Tribal
For almost 30 years, we have partnered with the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community and more recently with Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, also known as Three Affiliated Tribes. During that time, our relationship has grown beyond providing architectural services and into everything from master planning consulting services to miscellaneous consulting services on smaller projects. As our relationship continues, it’s both an honor and a privilege to serve their needs and integrate their culture and traditions into their projects.
Our project work with Native American communities includes event centers, child care centers, ceremonial spaces, churches, cultural center, fitness centers, convenience stores, fire stations, office building and our first hockey rink, which was built nearly 30 years ago. Our relationships with these communities are based on trust, respect
Religious
Our project work with religious institutions includes new building design, renovations and remodels. Designing religious facilities relies on many of the same strategies and processes as our other work. It starts with understanding the client, their vision and what they’re looking to accomplish. We consider the arrangement of the space and enhancing the member's experience in faith.
We combine information specific to our religious clients’ needs along with our expertise in programming and designing religious buildings. Consideration for floor layout, functionality, décor, furniture and congregation flow are all required with religious building design.
Education
Educational buildings are much more than classrooms with four walls and a few windowOur facilities focus on the faculty and students who will utilize the space and building out a structure to support them. We’re well-versed in the changing landscape of education, and we use that information to support our building design services.
Understanding how space is to be used is essential in all areas, and especially when it comes to educational buildings. School architecture impacts communities for generations. Our facilities are designed to provide a lot of natural light to support a learning atmosphere and promote creativity and interaction amongst the students.
Process and Services
For design and architecture projects outside of the realm of financial, recreational and commercial, we adapt our time-tested processes and services to meet the project at hand. We’ll commit the necessary amount of time to research and planning because we know it is essential for HTG team members to have a whole view of the industry they’re working on.
Our process for preliminary research and planning is our EvoProcess. During the EvoProcess, the initial planning and research of a project
Next, we move each project into the InVision phase. InVision could involve Programming and Feasibility Study, Site Selection Studies and/or Site and Building Assessments. It’s our intention to meld our client’s vision with our expertise to develop and design the best recreation facility for their community. Our clients are challenged to think differently during programming but enjoy the process of going over the different components, variables
Finally, we move into the Architecture and Engineering phase. This is where all the effort we pour into research, planning, Programming and Feasibility Studies really pay off. Because we’ve listened intently to our clients and established the Scope of the Project, the architecture and engineering phase tends to run smoothly.
